Corrina Cannell

“She is always prepared, she will have researched the piece or composer we are working on and will have some good insight to share with the group. She will make an excellent teacher. She has also been in charge of typing up our concert programs for the past two years, a job I have been grateful to pass on to such a competent student.”

Arjun Trikannad

“Arjun has had great experience performing and successfully competing in Indian classical music, which is very different from western music. The Indian tradition is not harmonically based, but more rhythmically and melodically grounded. So, when Arjun came into the Madrigals it was a totally new experience and he fell in love with it right away. Very quickly he developed an especially beautiful maturity and an unusual understanding of western classical solo and choral singing, he couldn’t get enough of it.”

Michael Eskovitz

“Michael’s technical ability is superb, he is one of my go-to guys for difficult solo’s. He is able to navigate the high notes and provide the stability needed as younger singers advance thru our program. Michael listened and worked hard with some of the older singers so he could develop his art song technique and repertoire. He is an excellent sight reader.”

“Christina is a little girl with a big big talent, she can play a child or adult with equal ease. She can sing just about any genre and do it well. She has one of the most beautiful natural voices I have ever worked with, and the motivation and work ethic to support her vocal qualities.”

Joanne Peng

“Joanne comes from a family of great singers and she certainly makes the effort to live up to the standard set before her. She has a lovely maturity and vitality to her singing that makes it stand out. She is ready to try whatever I ask and gives 100% to all her efforts. She has been a wonderful section leader and role model for the other girls in her choir. I can count on her to be completely ready all the time, and to check and make sure the rest of her section is as well.”

“It has been my pleasure to have Tristan in one of my classes since he was a freshman. When he first walked in the door of my guitar class, I thought “Here’s a kid who seems to be walking his own unique path.” He was fun, quirky, and yes, motivated. I didn’t understand yet just how motivated he was.”

“Whenever students come to me to ask me for a letter of recommendation, I write the words or qualities that first come to mind when I think of that student. For Brandon they are as follows: leader, poise under pressure, personable, confident, artistic, creative, and involved. Over the past four years, Brandon has always displayed these important skills while earning the trust and respect of his peers.”
